Roanoke's Elmwood Park
Add some spice to your life, with the Festival of India, presented by the
India Heritage Society and sponsored by WSLS 10. Saturday, August 21st at
Elmwood Park, take a trip across the world without leaving town. Bring the
whole family and enjoy authentic Indian food, traditional and bollywood
dancing. Shop Indian jewelry and clothes… Admission is free but the
experience is priceless. Come to Elmwood Park at 11am on Saturday, August
21st. The Festival of India, from your friends at the India Heritage Society
and WSLS 10.

Local Colors is Roanoke’s premiere year-long
multi-cultural program which recognizes and embraces people of diverse origins, races
and ethnic backgrounds.
Throughout the year Local Colors works with schools, colleges, neighborhoods,
retirement communities, government, businesses, and civic organizations to promote diversity
and multi-cultural understanding.
Annually it culminates in the third weekend of May with the renowned Local Colors Festival.
We are always looking for more Countries to participate in the Local Colors Festival.

- Local Colors celebrates its 19th year in 2009.
- Recognized as one of the largest events in Roanoke, the Local Colors Festival draws a crowd between 25,000 to
30,000 on a typical sunny day.
