Mark your calendars for Roanoke’s premier multicultural festival with an international flavor. Now in it’s 32nd year, the Local Colors Festival features an Opening Ceremony, performances, and dozens of vendor booths representing cultures from around the globe. There will be cuisine, artisan booths, educational and cultural displays, and community partners. The children’s area has fun, interactive activities for youth to learn about different cultures. Plus, the international beer truck will be back! Admission is free.

Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: What is the cost to attend?
A: The family friendly festival is FREE admission. You will have to pay at the various vendor booths and beer garden.
Q: Can I bring my dog or other pet?
A: Elmwood Park is a public space so dogs are allowed. However, please consider that the park gets very crowded with people and bringing your pet may not be the best idea
Q: Is there something for kids to do?
A: Plenty! There is a children’s activity area with fun interactive activities plus a passport program to explore different countries. All performances are family friendly as well.
Q: How do I become a vendor?
A: We’re sorry there are no more vendor spaces. We post vendor applications at the end of January on our website with an April deadline. Please check back for the 2024 festival
Q: Is there still time to volunteer?
A: We are accepting volunteer applications through May 18th. However, you can check in at our volunteer table the day of the event to see if any help is needed.
